1st Annual Speed the Light Golf
TournamentOn September 20th, First Assembly’s First Annual Speed the Light Golf Tournament will be held at the Mesaba Country Club. The tournament will be played in teams of four and will be scramble style. There will also be various hole competitions. Lunch will be served at 11:00 AM, and a shotgun start at 12:30 PM. If you would like more information, or if you are interested in being a sponsor at the event, pick up a brochure at the reception desk. Come have fun golfing while helping missionaries around the world! Attention Early Childhood Volunteers On Sunday September 14th following the second service, Pastor Wesley would like to have all volunteers from the Nursery, Toddler, and Preschool ministries join him for a lunch and informational meeting in the Fellowship Hall. Please RSVP and let us know how many from your family will be joining us. Thank you for all you do for our young children!!! Extreme Makeover Character Edition Makeovers and remodeling can be a ton of fun. Women Arising is getting set to kick off on September 17th with a new theme entitled, Extreme Makeover: Character Edition. You can have a complete character makeover by attending these weekly sessions on Wednesday evening. Expect to be challenged and change by the Lord. There will be worship , teaching, discussion, prayer, and the opportunity to bond with other women who attend. Night of Praise and Prayer On Sunday, August 31st at 6:00 PM, we will have a praise and prayer night. This will be a designated time outside the normal routine in our lives to pray together for direction for our lives, our church, and our world. When God’s people pray, powerful things happen. Come and spend some time around the altar as we seek the Lord. |

Wednesday Evening Summer Sizzle Schedule August 27—Family Service 6:30 PM After worship, adults who do not have children will have the option of attending the Family Service led by Pastor Wesley or an Adult Bible Study in the sanctuary. There will be Nursery, Toddler, and Preschool ministries. September 3—Event Night—Movie Night September 10—Back to School Bash Attention 7th Graders Can you believe how fast this summer has flown by? School will be starting sooner than most students would like. For some students, this year will be a big step. If you are an incoming seventh grader, then Pastor Ryan and Lauren would like to get together with you and your parents for dinner on Tuesday, September 9th, at 6:00 PM. The location will be determined later when we find out how many people will be attending. We would like to take some time to get to know you and answer any questions you may have. We look forward to spending some time with you. Women’s Spa for the Soul Retreat This year’s Bridging the Gap Retreat for Women is rapidly approaching. The dates are October 3-4 at Lake Geneva Christian Center, Alexandria, MN. The main speaker is Orleen Hazeltine with guests Rebecca St. James and Evie, The church has already reserved 12 spots for women which includes food, lodging and transportation. To get one of these spots you will need to sign up promptly at the church office. The cost is $95 made payable to First Assembly. The tickets will be released on first come, first served basis so sign up today. Deadline to sign up is September 14th. Coffee Group Update Our current coffee group study on Jeremiah ends this Sunday. There will not be a new study until September 21st. There will still be coffee or rolls available every Sunday morning in the Fellowship Hall at 8 AM. Morning prayer will be moving to 8:30 AM until September 21st. The new coffee group study will be Good Sense Budget Course. When you think of finances, do the words Grace, Joy, and Freedom come to mind? The Good Sense Budget Course is a Bible based course that focuses on helping you develop tools and habits to help you control your finances instead of them controlling you. |
