Children's Ministries

The Children Ministries of First Assembly exist to introduce the children to the Gospel, continually build them up by ministering to their needs through prayer, effectively disciple them through weekly activities, create an environment where the children are able to seek after our Lord in worship, and bring forth opportunities to help build a stronger family foundation.  We offer quality Children’s Ministry by trained volunteers to every child from birth through sixth grade.  The following is a list of some of the programs we offer for children.

Praise Place is comprised of Nursery (ages 0-18 months), Toddlers (18 months- 2 years), and Preschool (3-5 years).  These ministries are available during both Sunday morning services and during the Wednesday evening service.  We have a safe and secure system to check the children in with in order to provide peace of mind for our parents.  Children can be checked in down the stairs by the main entrance.

Ardent Kids is for elementary aged children from kindergarten to sixth grade. The kids will participate in discipleship groups, worship, prayer, and games that are fun and encouraging! Ardent Kids meets in the Kids' Chapel located behind the main building in the Family Life Center at 10:00am on Sundays. On Wednesday evenings (during school year) at 6:30pm, elementary kids enjoy discipleship through Heaven Chasers (boys K-4th) and Impact Girls (girls K-4th).

The mission of Heaven Chasers is to create an environment to disciple boys and teach them more about Jesus Christ.  Our leaders are passionate about bringing forth the Bible in a true, relevant form through interesting activities that boys enjoy.  Heaven Chasers meet on Wednesdays at 6:30pm in the Family Life Center during the school year.

Mpact Girls is a ministry tool to help fulfill the Titus 2 principle of women mentoring girls in grades K-6  by providing encouragement, support, and accountability through lasting Christian relationships.  Girls can begin Mpact Girls in kindergarten and continue through 6th grade.  Mpact Girls meet on Wednesdays at 6:30pm in the Family Life Center during the school year

Grapple is a ministry geared toward meeting the spiritual needs of pre-teens (5th & 6th grade). These pre-teens act differently, think differently, and learn differently.  Thought-provoking videos, fun games, and life-changing Bible lessons help kids get answers to the tough questions they are asking about faith, relationships, and the choices they make.  Grapple meets in the Coffee House on Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm during the school year.

Boys and Girls Missionary Crusade (BGMC) is the missions education emphasis for children at First Assembly.  Kids learn about missions while supporting missionaries in their fields of ministry in America and around the world.  Every student is given a Buddy Barrel (a yellow bank) for their change; on the first Sunday of every month, students bring their Buddy Barrels to Kids' Church to be emptied out.  An accurate count of all money given is recorded so students can see they are making a big difference around the world.

Centershot is an 8-week discipleship program for kids in grades 3-7 that takes the fundamentals of archery and uses it to connect to fundamentals of being a Christ follower.  The cost is $25 per student.

MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) meets the first and third Fridays of every month from 9:30-11:30am starting January 20th. Come enjoy some food, fellowship (mommy style), and different creative activities to help you feel refreshed and excited about being the mom God has called you to be! MOPS includes MOPPETS which is a place for your little ones to play and discover things about God.

Throughout the year, there are opportunities to grow and strengthen as a family through different events at the church and abroad.  Annually, our Children’s Ministry takes part in statewide events such as summer camps and conventions.  If you have any questions about the Children Ministry or would like to volunteer, please contact Pastor Jake Moen at the church office.
